I wanted to introduce myself before you decide whether to reach out - therapy is a fairly personal thing to choose sight unseen, so it felt right to start with a proper hello.

I'm a counselling psychologist trained across the UK and India. Before starting Amber Hour, I worked in prisons, universities, NGOs, and mental health clinics - each one teaching me something different about how people carry what's hard for them, and how differently they need to be met.

I wanted to create a space with room to breathe, not squeezed into a system that moves faster than healing actually does. That's where the name comes from: amber, which preserves gently over time rather than rushing to fix or change, and the hour, the therapeutic hour, set aside just for you, unhurried. Amber Hour.

What guides my work now is simple: I don't believe in bulldozers when it comes to healing. Patterns take time to build, and they deserve the same patience coming down - brick by brick, not all at once. That's why I work eclectically, drawing on whatever actually helps rather than fitting you into one fixed method.
